Ice Pilots Make Roster Moves Before Home Opener

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced today that center Kris Newbury has been activated from the seven-day injured reserve list to the active roster and forward Nick Lindberg has signed an ECHL contract with the team and has been added to the roster. The Ice Pilots also placed defenseman Dominic D'Amour and forward Jade Galbraith on the seven-day injured reserve list.

Newbury, who did not play in the Ice Pilots 4-2 season opening win last Saturday night, played in 72 games with St. John's of the AHL last season scoring 5 goals, 15 assists for 20 points and picked up 153 penalty minutes.

Lindberg played in 40 games last season for Hammerby in Sweden scoring 22 goals, 18 assists for 40 points and picked up 24 penalty minutes. D'Amour and Galbraith both played in the Ice Pilots season opening win at Mississippi. D'Amour picked up two penalty minutes and had 2 shots and Galbraith had six shots.

The Ice Pilots home opener is set for this Saturday night vs. the Florida Everblades at the Pensacola Civic Center at 7:05 p.m. Pensacola's Gold Medal Olympic Winner Justin Gatlin "The World's Fastest Human" will drop the Ceremonial Puck before the game. The Ice Pilots will also be "Celebrating Heroes" before the game. The Ice Pilots will be honoring and thanking everyone in Pensacola involved with their help and effort during and after Hurricane Ivan.

Escambia County Sheriff Ron McNesby, Gulf Power's Public Affairs General Manager John Hutchinson, Pensacola News Journal Editor Tom Ninestine, Cat Country 98.7 FM/AM 1620 owner Dave Hoxeng and other representatives from Escambia County and WEAR TV 3 will be part of the pre-game celebration.

The first 2,500 fans will receive magnetic schedules sponsored by Papa John's Pizza. A Halloween Costume Contest for the kids will take place at the game. The Sim s Jazz Band and Pace Cheerleaders will perform brought to you by the Dodge Team of the Month. BellSouth CDs will be passed out at the door along with Florida Lottery coolers and mugs.

Fans can purchase individual game tickets for the Ice Pilots home opener this Saturday in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, Charge by Phone at 434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com.

Cost of individual tickets are $22 for floor and glass seats, $15 for sides, $13 for goal and lower upper level and $10 for upper level. Season tickets for all 36 home games cost $649.44 for floor and glass seats. $459.00 for sides, $411.84 for behind the goal and lower upper level seats and $324.00 for upper level seats.
