Winnipeg Ice News Release
The Winnipeg ICE set a franchise record with their 50th win of the season Saturday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena following a 6-1 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The win clinched first place in the WHL's Eastern Conference standings with 105 points.
Cole Muir and Chase Wheatcroft each led the ICE with a pair of goals while Jakin Smallwood and Jack Finley also scored.
Carter Chorney had the lone goal for Medicine Hat.
The ICE out shot the Tigers 44-17. Daniel Hauser earned his 31st victory of the season while Garin Bjorklund suffered the loss.
Winnipeg went 2/4 on the power play. Medicine Hat was 0/1.
The two teams meet again tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon at 5:00 at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
