Ice Mice To Hold Tryouts For 2007-08 Season

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats, AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the Ice Mice, the River Rats Dance Team, will be holding open tryouts this Saturday, September 22, 2007.

The talent search for the 2007-08 Ice Mice squad will be held at ABC Sports & Fitness, located at 3 Johnson Road in Latham. Registration will start at 11:30 am with the tryouts beginning promptly at 12:00 pm. All applicants must be at least 18-years of age (bring valid ID) and should wear fitted clothing during the tryouts. There is a $20 non-refundable registration fee for those wishing to participate.

The Ice Mice provide fan-interaction, lead on-ice contests and in-crowd promotions at all Albany River Rats home games. All applicants will have to learn a choreographed routine at the tryouts and then perform in small groups for the judges. The River Rats begin their historic 15th AHL campaign on the road against the Binghamton Senators on Saturday October 6, 2007 at 7:05 p.m. The primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes will play their home opener at the Times Union Center against the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday October 13 at 7:00 p.m.
