Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers are set to help all those in the community that have been impacted by the tornadoes over the past two weeks by donating $1 per ticket sold and providing access for others to donate.
For this weekend's home games on Friday, Feb. 26 at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 28 at 4:05 p.m., the Ice Flyers will donate $1 for every ticket sold to help with the tornado relief efforts. Additionally, the proceeds from the 50/50 drawing on both nights will be donated.
Fans can make donations themselves via PensacolaIceFlyers.com or at the merchandise stands in the concessions areas of the Pensacola Bay Center at both games. 100% of all funds donated will go towards the relief efforts and will remain in the local area. Online donations will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4.
"It is very important to us, as a professional hockey team bearing the Pensacola name, that we show our support to those in our market that have long supported us," stated owner, Greg Harris. "We truly hope that through our donation, the donations from our fans and all others who have kindly donated through other avenues that we all can shed at least a small amount of light in the lives of those who have suffered losses this past week."
Also, the approval and blessing from Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola has been generously given to the team to donate some of the overstocked stuffed animals that remain from the Ice Flyers' annual Teddy Bear Toss to the children of the families affected by the storms.
