Macon Mayhem News Release
Some Jones County school children recently got some special instruction and kickball teammates in a visit by some of the Macon Mayhem hockey players.
Players went to Dames Ferry Elementary school on Tuesday and visited classrooms. They read to kids and talked to them about the importance of education.Students asked about where the players are from, rules of hockey, how they got started playing and more.
After the discussions inside the classroom, it was out to the playground where the Mayhem helped take part in a school wide kickball game. Dames Ferry Elementary students got the thrill of playing a sport with professional athletes. And Mayhem players got the thrill of being back on the schoolyard once again.
This was the latest of numerous appearances Mayhem players have made at schools, libraries, and other locations around middle Georgia. Throughout the season players have been delivering positive messages and serving as role models for Georgia's school children.
The Mayhem are in the midst of a seven game road trip and return home March 17th to face the Knoxville Ice Bears.
