
Ice Flyers Sign Veteran David Segal

PENSACOLA, FL. (July 30, 2015) - The Pensacola Ice Flyers have announced today that veteran forward David Segal has been signed by head coach Rod Aldoff for the 2015-16 season.
"I'm extremely excited to have David on our team this upcoming season," Aldoff stated. "He's a true competitor and brings everything he has to the team each and every day."
Segal is entering his ninth season as a pro and has spent all but one season with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the SPHL. He's played 288 games in the SPHL, scoring 87 goals adding 61 assists for 148 points, and has 1533 penalty minutes.
"My family and I are ecstatic that I have been given the opportunity to play for Pensacola," Segal commented. "Throughout the years in this league, I have had great experiences playing against Pensacola and have the utmost respect for the organization and fans."
Segal has served as captain and assistant captain for the Ice Bears during a few seasons. He is considered a veteran by the SPHL playing in more than 224 pro games, and will occupy one of three veteran roster spots for the Ice Flyers.
"He plays all facets of the game. He's made a name for himself as one of the best fighters in the league, but he's also put up some good offensive numbers," Aldoff added. "I look forward to him excelling at both of these sides to his game this season. His leadership and experience in our league will be a huge asset to our team. It will be exciting for our fans to see him in an Ice Flyers jersey.
"I like that I will be coming to an organization that will have high expectations of me and I'm looking forward to not only meeting them but exceeding them on a way to a championship," Segal finished.
