Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
PENSACOLA, FL. -Â The Pensacola Ice Flyers' home games scheduled for this Friday and Saturday night will proceed as scheduled.
"Throughout this week, the crews at the Bay Center have been building ice and the process has proceeded normally," said Ice Flyers owner Greg Harris. "The state of the ice at this point in the process matches up with the state when beginning the season and when ice gets put back in during the season."
The ice has been built up to approximately a half inch and crews will continue to add water to reach the required 1 ¼ to 1 ½ inches of ice. "I believe we will all remain slightly on edge until puck drop Friday night, however seeing the progression and a fresh sheet of ice being built puts everyone's mind as ease," Harris added.
Should no issues arise beyond the current state, the Ice Flyers will host their popular $5 Weekend Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m., where all seats except glass seats are only five dollars. Tickets can be purchased at the Bay Center Box Office or online through Ticketmaster.com.
Harris concluded, "It has been a month without a home game and we are all anxious for some hockey. What better way to continue our season and playoff push than by having our massive $5 Weekend for so many fans to enjoy."
