Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
MACON, Ga.- The Pensacola Ice Flyers collected a total of 1,390 stuffed animals and toys between the team's Teddy Bear Toss on Friday, Dec. 2, and the toy drive throughout the month of November to benefit the Gulf Coast Kid's House. In what proved to be a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Mississippi RiverKings, defenseman Myles McCauley scored the game's opening goal with 6:13 left in the first period and sent the Teddy Bears and stuffed animals flying. The stuffed animals collected will be donated to the Studer Family Children's Hospital at Sacred Heart and other local organizations that work with children.
Today, the full Ice Flyers team visited the hospital to deliver some of the stuffed animals. Further deliveries will be scheduled in the future.
The Ice Flyers will be back in action inside the Pensacola Bay Center this weekend as they host the Huntsville Havoc in back-to-back games. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. both nights. Friday night will be Social Media Night inside the Hangar and fans are encouraged to participate in social media contests all night. On Saturday, it'll be Polar Express & PJs Night; the first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a free Ice Flyers jersey. Kids must be present to receive jersey.
