ICE Fall to Tigers 5-2

Medicine Hat, AB - The Winnipeg ICE started a short two-game road trip with a 5-2 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers at Canalta Centre on Friday night.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead seven minutes into the game thanks to goals from Elijah Brown and Tyler Preziuso. Ryan Chyzowski made it 3-0 for the Tigers before ICE forward Jakin Smallwood picked up his first goal of the campaign cutting the lead to 3-1. Connor McClennon added an early third period goal for the ICE to make it 3-2 but that is as close as the visitors would get. The Tigers added two goals in the final 14 minutes of regulation time for the 5-2 win.

McClennon led the way for the ICE with two points (1G, 1A). Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 29-of-33 shots in his first start of the season.

Tigers goaltender Mads Sogaard blocked 28-of-31 shots for the 'W'.

With the loss, the ICE now have a record of 3-4-1-0. The victory bumps the Tigers' record to 6-2-1-0.
