
ICE Down Blades 7-2 to Cap off Four-Point Weekend

Winnipeg, MB - Brad Ginnell scored two goals, added an assist, and received first star of the game as the Winnipeg ICE defeated the Saskatoon Blades 7-2 at Wayne Fleming Arena on Sunday evening.
The ICE jumped out to an early lead thanks to two goals from Ginnell in the first 12:35 of the opening frame. Jakin Smallwood and newly acquired Jackson Leppard would round out the scoring as the ICE led 4-1 after the opening 20-minutes of play.
Owen Pederson potted the lone goal in the second period while Nino Kinder and Anson McMaster added the others in the final frame to round out the scoring for the ICE. For McMaster, his goal at the 13:18 mark of the third period was the first of his WHL career.
ICE goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 28-of-30 shots in the victory. Blades netminder Koen MacInnes blocked 38-of-45 shots in the loss.
