Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ice Dogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron, announced today he has agreed to terms with rookie center, Nathan Martz. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6'3", 197 pound native of Chilliwack, British Columbia, was originally drafted in the 5th round, 140th overall, by the New York Rangers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He played the last four years for the University of New Hampshire, accumulating 25 goals, 57 assists, and 95 penalty minutes in 137 games. In 2003, he was named to the Frozen Four All-Tournament Team, and this year attended the Vancouver Canucks rookie camp. Prior to coming to Long Beach, Martz will be attending training camp with the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

"Nathan is a very skilled, gifted puck handler", said Cameron. "He's got good vision on the ice and is offensively creative. We're very excited to have him, as he's an outstanding piece to the puzzle. We're building a good balance between rookies and veteran leadership."

Season tickets for the 2004-2005 season are on sale now in all price ranges. The Ice Dogs are guaranteeing the playoffs or season ticket holders will receive a $50 rebate on each seat purchased. Don't miss the season opener, October 22nd versus the San Diego Gulls. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
