September 17, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
With the 2004-05 ECHL Season on the mind of all hockey fans in the CSRA, the Augusta Lynx announced Friday the schedule for their upcoming training camp.
Kicking off the on-ice training sessions on Sunday, October 10th, the Lynx will practice mostly at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center, but play their exhibition home game against the Charlotte Checkers at the Augusta Ice Sports Center on Friday, October 15th at 7 pm. The contest will be followed by a post-game skate with the players. There will be a total of 300 free first-come, first-serve tickets available for season ticket holders only starting Wednesday, September 22nd through the Lynx offices at 712 Telfair St. in Augusta. Admission for all others will be a $5 donation at the door to support the Augusta Junior Lynx Youth Hockey program.
"This is a great chance to support the kids in the area," said Lynx Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Stan Drulia. "They deserve our support, and we're also happy to work with the Augusta Ice Sports Center to have our game there. They're a very important part of the community."
The Lynx will then head to Charlotte to battle the Checkers on Saturday night at 7 pm at the Verizon Wireless Arena for their final clash of the pre-season.
Augusta will hold skates open to the public during training camp, taking to the Civic Center ice for the first time on Sunday at 11 am until noon. From Monday, October 11th until Thursday, October 14th, the team will skate from 9 â 11 am at the Civic Center. After Friday and Saturday's home and home series, and a day off on Sunday, the team will re-take the ice at the Civic Center from 10 am to noon from Monday, October 18th through Thursday, October 21st in anticipation of the home opener against Gwinnett on Friday, October 22nd at 7:35 pm.
Single seats go on sale to the public at 10 am on September 22nd, while full and partial season tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office by calling (706) 724-4423, or stopping by the office at 712 Telfair St. in downtown Augusta.
