August 3, 2004 - SPHL (SPHL)
Knoxville Ice Bears News Release
Coach Jim Bermingham and the Knoxville Ice Bears are proud to announce 5 players signed and ready for hockey in October. Ice Bears fans have become acustomed to seeing fan favorite #3 Alex Alepin, and the 2004-05 season will be no different. Alex's 33 points, 13 goals 20 assists combined with 205 penalty minutes is a force teams will again have to reckon with this year. #12 Kevin "Swiderman" Swider returns to the Icebears after spending most of the year in sunny Miami. "Swiderman" was the leading scorer for the Ice Bears during the 2002-03 season and lead the team in scoring in this year's playoffs. Also returning from last year's team is Defenseman # 44 Rob Miller.
Two new Ice Bears have also been signed. Between the pipes will be goalie Jamie Ronayne. Ronayne posted a 24-12-4 record with the Alabama Slammers in the WHA2 last year. Marcus Forsberg also joins the Icebears. Forsberg is a Left Winger that played in the UHL and CHL last season.
