Hymovitz Named Player of the Week

DANBURY, CT-The United Hockey League (UHL) announced on Monday that Danbury Trashers forward David Hymovitz was named the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week for the period ending on January 1, 2006. This is the first time that Hymovitz has received the award this season.

Hymovitz recently completed his best week in a Danbury uniform with 13 points on five goals and a +10 rating over four games. The 31-year-old Bostonian scored at least three points in all four Danbury wins, including a four point effort (1G, 3A) last Friday in a 6-2 win against his former club, the Richmond RiverDogs. Hymovitz is currently leading the Trashers in scoring with 34 points (17g, 17a). He is also riding a six-game goal streak and a nine-game point streak.

The Trashers return home on Wednesday January 4th at 7pm against Kalamazoo for Back to School Night. All students, teachers and school employees can purchase tickets for $10.00 at the Danbury Ice Arena with a valid ID for the game.

Danbury will embark on a three-game road trip after Wednesday night's game that will take them to Motor City, Flint and Fort Wayne starting on Friday night. Friday's game against the Motor City Mechanics starts at 7:30pm.
