
IceHogs end 2005 in style with three wins

The Rockford IceHogs wrapped up the 2005 portion of the regular season schedule with three wins during Week 11. The Hogs rolled to their three wins, outscoring their opponents17-5 and pushed their unbeaten streak to seven games (5-0-2). Week 12 features three showdowns with the Hogs' arch rivals, the Quad City Mallards. The Hogs and Mallards are the top two teams in the Western Division.

Transactions
-Center Paul Brown was assigned to the the IceHogs from the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, Dec. 31.
-Winger Jason Notermann was re-assigned from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
-Winger Jason Ralph was activated from the 14-Day Injured Reserve on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
Bacon Bits:
The IceHogs are currently riding a seven-game unbeaten streak (5-0-2) and are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games.
In the month of December, the Hogs were led in scoring by rookies Robin Big Snake (10g-3a-13pts) and Yannick Tifu (5g-8a-13pts).
Big Snake leads the Hogs with 15 goals and 175 penalty minutes.
Hogs Head Coach Steve Martinson won career game 500 on Friday night against Roanoke Valley.
Rockford leads the UHL with 16 home wins.
IceHogs goalie Ronnie Vogel has the best winning percentage among all UHL goalies with a record of 13-1-2 (.867).
Rockford is 13-1-1 against the UHL's Western Division and will play six of their next seven games against the West.
The IceHogs' five shorthanded goals scored is tied for second best in the UHL and the Hogs still lead the league in penalty kill (89.3%).
Rockford still hasn't lost a regulation game when leading after the first (10-0-1) or second (15-0-1) period.
Hot Hog Week 11:
Another week and another rookie stepped up for Rockford during Week 11. Rookie center Yannick Tifu netted 4g-3a-7pts in Rockford's three games during Week 11. Tifu racked up 3g-1a-4pts in Rockford's 6-1 win over Roanoke Valley on Saturday.
Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Jan. 4 vs. Quad City Mallards. The showdown begins at 7:05 p.m. The top two teams in the Western Division meet in another FlyAway Wednesday at the MetroCentre. A lucky fan will win a pair of airline tickets from Allegiant Air, the Rockford-Chicago International Airport and WXRX-FM 104.9.
Friday, Jan. 6 vs. Quad City Mallards. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The back end of two straight games between the Hogs and Mallards at the MetroCentre. Hogs fans will be entertained by the Milwaukee Brewers Sausages and the Brewers mascot Bernie Brewer.
Saturday, Jan. 7 vs. Missouri River Otters. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs wrap up their season-long six-game homestand against the River Otters. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs Mousepad from Best Realty and FOX 39.

Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all IceHogs Regular and Post Season games on Rockford's Voice, WNTA-AM 1330. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! Log on to the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the "click here to watch the game live" icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. New to the network this season is ESPN Radio "The Jock" 1380 AM. The Jock will broadcast 20 Hogs games during the regular season. Check your local listings. Also, fans with Insight Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 20 minutes before the puck drops. The Rockford IceHogs would like to extend an apology to all the Hogs fans who have tried to listen or view the broadcast on icehogs.com through the B2 Networks when the team is in Fort Wayne. The Komets have chosen not to adhere to league rules and do not have B2 Network access in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at this time. IceHogs fans can catch all the Hogs games, home and away via broadcast and video through the B2 Network on icehogs.com all season, with the exception of the games played in Fort Wayne.
