RHP Blane Abeyta (4-7, 4.58 ERA) vs. LHP Scott Moss (MiLB Rehab)

| Game 101 | Road Game 54 | ShoreTown Ballpark | Lakewood, N.J. | August 7, 2022 | First Pitch 1:05 p.m. |

GOING DTS FOR THE WEEK: The Renegades finish their trip to ShoreTown Ballpark this afternoon with their final game in this park in 2022. The last time Hudson Valley played in Lakewood, they secured the first six-game sweep in franchise history, defeating the BlueClaws in every game from July 4-10. Overall, the Renegades had an 11-game winning streak against the BlueClaws snapped in Saturday's doubleheader, and have won 12 of the last 15.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Renegades were swept in a doubleheader by the Jersey Shore BlueClaws on Saturday, 8-2 in game one and 2-0 in game two. Jasson Domínguez went 2-for-4 with a home run in game one, while Matt Sauer threw his first career complete game in a losing effort in game two.

SAUER NEW STRIKEOUT KING: When RHP Matt Sauer struck out Jersey Shore's Arturo De Freitas to end the fourth inning on 8/6 (G2), he registered his 149th strikeout with the Renegades, becoming the franchises' new strikeout leader. He surpassed the previous record of 148 set by Rich Dorman, which had stood since 2001.

I WOULD WALK 500 MILES: Thursday night's contest with Jersey Shore featured an incredible 21 combined walks (13 by JS pitchers, 8 by HV). The two teams totaled 1,890 feet worth of walks, more than 1/3 of a mile.

NARVY'S PARTY: Starting with his two-homer game on June 17, Renegades C Carlos Narvaez is batting a robust .273/.387/.597 with 4 doubles, 7 HR, 22 RBIs, 14 BB and 25 K in 26 games. Narvaez has as streak of two RBIs in three consecutive games snapped Saturday, but was tied with Everson Pereira and Tyler Hardman for the longest multi-RBI streak for a Hudson Valley batter this season.

OFFENSE IN RICH SUPPLY: Renegades OF Grant Richardson put together a fantastic week against Brooklyn, and some would say was robbed of the South Atlantic League Player of the Week honors. In four games against the Cyclones, Richardson hit .538/.625/1.385 (7-for-13) with 6 R, 2 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 2 BB and 4 K. He went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's series opener.

LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN: Scoring many runs gives a team a better chance to win a baseball game, and the 2022 Renegades are no exception. With Thursday's 11-7 triumph over Jersey Shore, Hudson Valley is now 27-2 (.931) this season when scoring 7-or-more runs. The Gades are 26-45 (.366) when scoring 7-or-fewer runs.

ON THE DeMARCO: Renegades OF Pat DeMarco is 10-for-19 at the plate in his last six games played, raising his season batting line from .208/.250/.252 to .235/.274/.299. The run includes his first home run of the year on Sunday, July 24 at Wilmington, a solo home run off Jose Ferrer.

SWEENEY ON A TEAR: Since May 25 when his slash line bottomed out at .176/.261/.333, Trey Sweeney has been on a tear, hitting .258/.365/.441 across 55 games to raise his line to .232/.332/.410. One of the biggest keys for Sweeney during the stretch has been how dramatically his K% has dropped, from 31.3% before May 25, to 22.4% since May 25, while his walk rate has spiked from 8.7% to 13.2%.

PINSTRIPED PITCHING PROWESS: Strength in pitching is a theme across the New York Yankees minor league system and the Renegades are no exception. The staff sports a 3.79 ERA on the season, the third-best mark in the South Atlantic League (Wilmington -- 3.67). It also ranks as the seventh-best staff ERA in High-A, and t17th-best in the minor leagues. All four Yankees affiliated teams rank in the top 25 in the minors in ERA -- Somerset 3.52, 3rd; Tampa 3.72, t12th; Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 3.87, 21st.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE STEALS: With Carlos Narvaez's steal of third base in the seventh inning on July 6, the Renegades stole their collective 150th base of the season to set a new franchise record. It took only 77 games to break the record that was set by the 2021 Renegades in 120 games. The Gades enter play Saturday with 184 stolen bases on the year, third-most in the minors behind Down East (A, TEX -- 239) and Lake Elsinore (A, SD -- 202).

IN GOOD HANDS: The Renegades have been among the best fielding teams in the South Atlantic League this season, having committed the second-fewest errors (78) of any team. Hudson Valley fielders committed just 12 errors in 991 total chances since the start of July (27 total games), a .988 fielding percentage. However, three of the Renegades' last four errors have come on errant pickoff throws. The Gades are sixth among High-A teams in errors and tied for fifth in fielding percentage (.978).

YOU LOSE GOOD MEN ALL THE TIME TO TRADES...: The New York Yankees have executed several trades leading up to the August 2 trade deadline, with many effecting the Hudson Valley Renegades. Starting pitchers RHP Beck Way and LHP T.J. Sikkema were traded to Kansas City in the Andrew Benintendi deal, while INF Cooper Bowman was dealt to Oakland as part of the Frankie Montas acquisition. The Yankees also dealt former Renegades RHP Hayden Wesneski, LHP Ken Waldichuk, and RHP Luis Medina at the deadline.

...AND UNRULY FANS: In the first six games of Jasson Domínguez's home tenure, the Renegades welcomed 23,176 fans through the gates at Dutchess Stadium. The Gades rank 5th out of 12 teams in the South Atlantic League in attendance, and are in the top half among all High-A franchises. Hudson Valley's average attendance is up 22.9% compared to 2021, compared to a 16.8% jump across the SAL.

OL' PROSPECTORS: With the trade deadline in the rear-view mirror, the Yankees Top 30 prospects list has changed. Per MLB.com, the Renegades feature the Yankees No. 3 (Jasson Domínguez), No. 5 (Trey Sweeney), No. 6 (Yoendrys Gómez), No. 24 (Edgar Barclay) and No. 30 (Matt Sauer) prospects. Gómez is rated as the No. 1 pitching prospect in the organization.
