Another Cane prospect made his much anticipated Training Camp debut as Alex Kuvaev, (Koo-Vy-Ev) the Canes only pick in the 2010 CHL Import Draft played a solid game as a member of Team 4. It was the Navy Team 3 who jumped ahead to an early lead 2-0 after the first half on the strength of goals by Brett Printz (2G,1A) and Michael Sofillas. Team 3 then extended their lead as Brody Sutter (2G,1A) tallied before Veteran Austin Fyten then answered back a minute later to put Team 4 on the board. Last season's leading goal scorer Mitch Maxwell tallied to make it 4-1 for Team 3 before Sam McKechnie (3G) notched his first to make it 4-2. Sutter scored his second to extend the lead to 5-2 before Texas born forward Chris Stovall answered back for Team 4 again. Jared Marchi then scored his first of the game with just under eight minutes to play which looked to seal it away 6-3 for Team 3... Before a late charge from Team 4 who rattled off four unanswered goals from David Tot, the newcomer Kuvaev and McKechnie's second and third of the game - McKechnie's hat trick goal gave Team 4 their first lead of the game with 2:46 left in the game. But less than 30 seconds later a reeling Team 3 notched the equalizer with Printz's second of the game to force OT. After a fast paced OT period the game went to a shootout in which the Team 3 sharpshooters managed to all score with the winner coming off the stick of rookie Lenny Hackman for the 8-7 shootout victory.

The Russian has landed! Kuvaev looks right at home, scoring insurance goal in 8-6 Team 4 win and OT winner in tie breaker to advance Team 4 to the Championship game
In another offensive explosion Team 3 and 4 combined for 14 goals and a tie breaker in the final game of the afternoon. Team 4 needed the win after being narrowly edged out by Team 3 in an 8-7 shootout loss earlier in the day. Team 3 came flying out of the gates and looked to have wrapped up a spot in the final after posting a 6-3 lead after the first period. The Team 3 charge was led by veteran Brody Sutter (3G) posting a hat trick while newcomer Josh Kluck (2G) had a pair and defenseman Daniel Johnston (1G) once again showed his offensive ability. Team 4 stuck with it and stayed within striking distance in the first with goals from Texan Chris Stovall (2G), Austin Fyten and Graham Hood (1G,1A). Team 4 then poured on the gas as facing elimination - Sam McKechnie, Brady Ramsay, Jared Jerome, Adam Henry each tallied unassisted markers before Alex Kuvaev put it away to give Team 4 a 8-6 win. With the win, Team 4 forced a tie breaker overtime period to decide which Team would advance to the Championship. As if on cue, Kuvaev made a nice move to the inside while crossing the blue line before sniping a top cheese shot to advance Team 4 to Sunday's Championship game.
