Lethbridge, AB - The Canes cruised to two much needed wins this weekend; shutting out both the Kamloops Blazers (2-0) on Friday and the Red Deer Rebels (3-0) on Saturday. Juha Metsola led the way with 18 saves to record his club record tying fifth shutout of the season against the Blazers. A third straight sellout crowd of 4806 helped welcome the Canes back from their U.S. Division road trip as Carter Bancks notched a two point night (1G,1A).
The Hurricanes had a Valentine's day date with their Central division rivals from up north, the Red Deer Rebels. A fourth straight sellout crowd of 5094 saw rookie Michael Tadjdeh put on a stellar performance in relief of the injured Juha Metsola. Tadjdeh finished with 18 saves in two periods of work to notch the second WHL shutout of his career. Zach Boychuk would finish the night with an empty net goal and an assist while Mitch Versteeg and Kyle Beach notched the first Hurricanes goals. Beach's goal was his 21st of the season and his 22nd point as a Hurricane. The Canes record now moves to 30-25-3-2 going into action this weekend against their Southern Alberta rivals, the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Hall of Fame: The Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Lethbridge Hurricanes/Broncos Alumni Committee will be inducting John Chapman, Brian Sutter, Darryl Sutter, Duane Sutter, Brent Sutter, Rich Sutter and Ron Sutter in a ceremony before the game on Friday, February 20th against Medicine Hat. Colton Sceviour (24G, 43A), Kyle Beach (21G, 31A) and Dwight King (19G, 31A) are the Hurricanes current scoring leaders. While Mitch Versteeg leads all Hurricanes d-men with 26 points (7G, 19A). Lethbridge vs. Medicine Hat
Fans will be in for a treat at this game as the Canes and Tigers begin another chapter of their Southern Alberta rivalry. The Canes battled their way to a 7-5 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday January 21. The 3979 fans in attendance were treated to a classic hockey game which included everything - hits, fights and highlight reel goals. Brody Sutter tallied the game winner with just under seven minutes remaining while Dwight King notched his 18th and 19th of the season. Mitch Versteeg, Carter Ashton, Brent Henke and Kyle Beach added the other Hurricanes markers, while Max Ross, Brennan Yadlowski and Drew Hoff each had a pair of helpers. Lethbridge had a total of 14 different players get in on the point scoring as Juha Metsola had 19 saves to claim the win.

The Canes will be heading east to Medicine Hat for their second game of their weekend series against the Tigers. Going into this weekend's action the Canes' record against the Tigers sits at 1-3-2-0.
