Albany River Rats News Release
RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Bryan Rodney to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.
Rodney, 24, has earned two assists while playing in each of the Hurricanes' last six games since being recalled from Albany on Jan. 29. It marked the second NHL recall this season for the London, Ont., native, who has now played in eight games with Carolina, earning two assists and averaging 12:37 of ice time per game. The Hurricanes signed Rodney (6'0", 200 lbs.) as a free agent on May 12, 2008, after he finished the 2007-08 season with the River Rats.
The Hurricanes wrap up a two-game home stand tonight as the Columbus Blue Jackets visit the RBC Center (7 p.m., FS Carolinas HD, Hurricanes Radio Network). Single-game tickets for all remaining Hurricanes regular-season games are available at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center, CarolinaHurricanes.com, by calling 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
