
Huntsville wins battle in overtime

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Jonathon Lounsbury scored 2:42 into the overtime period lifting the Huntsville Havoc to a 5-4 win over the Columbus Cottonmouths in a game that lasted over three hours.
The game had 186 penalty minutes on 44 offenses, 95 by Columbus and 91 by Huntsville.
The Havoc had a 4-2 lead on goals by Bill Monkman, Matt Bothwell, James Patterson and Chris Peach before Columbus rallied to tie the game. Tim Green scored late in the second period and Mat Ponto scored in the third to even the score. Green added a late first period goal and Tom McMonagle scored in the second for the Cottonmouths.
Matt Carmichael, who finished with 33 saves, got his fifth win of the season. Ryan Senft took the loss in his first start of the season.
With all the penalties that were called, only eight powerplay opportunities arose, Huntsville was 1-of-5, Columbus was 1-of-3.
