HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach, John Gibson, announced today that the team has signed veteran forward Chris Peach. The Havoc also signed forwards Tom Phillips and Darren Salmon and defenseman Brandon Cordua to tryout agreements.

Peach (5-9, 175) has played in 521 games in nine professional seasons. He has scored 214 goals and has 232 assists for 446 points. He also has 631 penalty minutes. He played five seasons in the WPHL and three in the CHL. He played in Italy last season. He played in 71 games from 1993-96 at the University of New Brunswick and scored 40 goals and had 33 assists.

"Chris Peach is a great addition for us in so many ways," Gibson said. "He brings an abundance of experience and leadership to our team. He is definitely gong to be an offensive threat every time he is on the ice. He will help us in all game situations, including power play and penalty killing. I had been talking with Chris for almost two years now and I am excited he is coming to Huntsville."

Phillips (5-11, 180) is the younger brother of Luke Phillips. He has spent the past two seasons playing junior hockey for the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League. He has played in 103 games and scored 24 goals and tallied 42 assists. He had 138 penalty minutes.

Salmon (5-11, 190) played in 196 junior games from 1999-2004. He scored 43 goals and had 73 assists to go along with 769 penalty minutes.

Cordua (6-0, 210) played in 93 games from 2001-2005 at the University of Southern Maine, where he recorded three goals and 13 assists and had 144 penalty minutes. He was a two-time Assistant Captain. He also played the years in the Ontario Hockey Association with the Mississauga Chargers, Oakville Blades and Vaughan Vipers.

"I have offered three more tryout agreements and the one name that I am sure sticks out is Tom Phillips," said Gibson. "He brings us a more offensive style of hockey than Luke does. Darren Salmon is a physical winger that will fit into the Havoc system quite well and Brandon Cordua will help us shore up a solid defensive core."

The Havoc open camp on Friday, October 14 and will host the Knoxville Ice Bears in an exhibition game on Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 at the Von Braun Center.
