Huntsville Havoc News Release

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc Head Coach, Eric Soltys, announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Martin Kubaliak in a trade with the Richmond Renegades.

The Havoc will send the rights to forwards Beau McLaughlin and Kyle Sheen to Richmond for Kubaliak. He was just traded from Twin City to Richmond earlier this week but after playing for the Havoc during the 2006-07 season he has now made his home in Huntsville.

"Martin is exactly what we were looking for in a defenseman," Soltys said. "He is big, physical and has a good shot. He was the piece of the puzzle that we were missing on the backend."

Kubaliak played in 51 games for the Havoc in 2006-07 and scored five goals and recorded 17 assists. He split time last season between the CHL and ECHL and played in 57 games and scored three goals and recorded six assists.

Sheen played in 50 games last season and scored 18 goals and recorded 26 assists. He led the team with 192 penalty minutes. McLaughlin played in 36 games and scored 15 goals and recorded 19 assists.

The Huntsville Havoc will celebrate their Fifth Anniversary during the 2008-09 season. Don't miss any of the action; get your full or partial season tickets now. Visit the Havoc office in the Von Braun Center or call (256) 518-6160 for more information.
