Renegades Complete Six Player Trade

The Richmond Renegades today completed a three team, six player trade when they sent recently acquired defenseman MARTIN KUBLIAK to the Huntsville Havoc in exchange for forwards BEAU MCLAUGHLIN and KYLE SHEEN. The Renegades had obtained Martin Kubliak and his brother, Jozef in a trade with the Twin Cities Cyclones on Wednesday.
MCLAUGHLIN, who hails from Virginia Beach, VA, played 36 games for the Havoc last season scoring 15 goals to along with 19 helpers and 39 PIM's. He had 1 power play goal, two short handed goals and 3 game winning goals. The 6' 190# forward has also seen action in the ECHL and CHL and is a graduate of UConn. In 9 games last season with the Trenton Devils of the ECHL the 27 y.o. winger had 2 goals and one assist.
SHEEN, a 25 y.o. tough product of the Western Hockey League, calls Calgary, Alberta home. At 6'2" and 225# Sheen accumulated 225 PIM's last season in 50 games with Huntsville. He found the back of the net 18 times and assisted on 26 others. His totals include 9 power play goals and one game winning goal. Sheen has played 72 games in the UHL including 41 games in the 2004-05 campaign with the Richmond Riverdogs collecting 6 goals and 6 assists to accompany his 122 PIM's.
"With the loss of Melnyk this week we wanted to add some scoring power to the lineup. This trade with Huntsville concludes the plan we envisioned when we started the player trade this week with the Cyclones," stated Renegades head coach, Brian Goudie. "Beau and Kyle are known scorers and will more than makeup any scoring loss we may have experienced. In fact, we are in a better position as teams will now have to contend with two quality forwards instead of just one. When the dust clears the Renegades find ourselves with two quality forwards and an excellent defenseman in exchange for Melnyk."
