
Houston Dynamo Midfielders Boniek GarcÃa, Luis Garrido Called up for World Cup Qualifying Matches

HOUSTON (Friday, Nov. 6, 2015) - Houston Dynamo midfielders Boniek Garc?-a and Luis Garrido have been called up by Honduras national team head coach Jorge Luis Pinto for two CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers beginning next weekend.
The pair will join Honduras on Nov. 9 as Los Catrachos begin CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Honduras will face Canada on Nov. 13 in Vancouver before hosting Mexico in San Pedro Sula on Nov. 17.
Honduras is in Group A for the fourth round of CONCACAF qualifying, along with Mexico, Canada, and El Salvador. All three counties face each other once at home and once away for a total of six games. The top two finishers in the group will advance to the fifth and final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. Honduras is seeking its third consecutive World Cup finals berth after advancing to the 2010 and 2014 tournaments.
Garc?-a has 103 caps for Honduras, including all 16 World Cup qualifying matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and five more for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Garrido appeared in 11 World Cup qualifiers last cycle and has 33 overall appearances for his country. Garc?-a played in three games (two starts) while Garrido made two starts at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
