Houston Dynamo Issues Statement on Suspension of Major League Soccer Season
Published on March 12, 2020 under Major League Soccer (MLS)
Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Earlier this morning, Major League Soccer announced that the 2020 season has been suspended for 30 days, effective immediately, as the league continues to assess the impact of COVID-19 with its medical task force and public health officials.
As the developments surrounding COVID-19 in our region evolve, the Houston Dynamo remained in daily communication with the League as well as with local and regional health authorities and government officials.
Throughout this process, our Club's primary focus has been on the health and wellbeing of our fans, players, staff and community. With that in mind, we support the League's decision, and our Club will continue to work with the League and with City and County officials regarding next steps. Part of our commitment to "Hold it Down" for Houston is doing what's right for our community, and what's right in this case is to err on the side of safety.
Tickets for this weekend's scheduled home match against Seattle Sounders FC, as well any additional matches that may be impacted, will remain valid for the rescheduled dates. Those dates have not been announced at this time.
For fans who have purchased tickets to these matches through any outlet other than HoustonDynamo.com, BBVAStadium.com or AXS.com, we advise them to contact the customer service line for the place where they purchased their tickets.
