HOUSTON (Wednesday, May 7, 2014) - The Houston Dynamo face the Columbus Crew tonight at 7 p.m. CT at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL, or by visiting the BBVA Compass Stadium box office (2200 Texas St., Houston) from 10:00 a.m. through kickoff tonight.

Tonight's game will be broadcast live on CSN Houston Plus (6:30 p.m. CT pregame show) and can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and 850 AM (Spanish).

Tonight is the start of three consecutive home games for the Dynamo. The home stand continues on Sunday at 6 p.m. when Houston meets Real Salt Lake at BBVA Compass Stadium before the LA Galaxy visit on May 17.

The Dynamo are 3-4-2 (11 points) and tied for fifth place in the Eastern Conference after a 4-1 win at Chivas USA on Saturday behind two goals from Giles Barnes and one each from Brad Davis and Will Bruin. A win tonight would vault the Dynamo to a tie for first place in the East.

The Crew (3-2-3; 12 points) is in fourth place in the Eastern Conference following a 2-0 defeat at Sporting Kansas City on Sunday afternoon. Columbus is seeking its first win since it started the season 3-0.

Columbus named Gregg Berhalter its new head coach last November and the former United States national team defender restructured the team's defensive core in the offseason. Berhalter added U.S. international Michael Parkhurst (25 caps) and Costa Rican internationals Giancarlo Gonzalez (31 caps) and Waylon Francis.

The Crew is led by Argentine playmaker Federico Higuain, who has 20 goals and 18 assists in 50 career MLS games since joining the Crew in 2012, when he won the MLS Newcomer of the Year award. Higuain (four goals, two assists this season) is supported by Costa Rica international forward Jairo Arrieta (two goals) and midfielder Bernardo Anor (two goals).

In addition, Ghanaian forward Dominic Oduro led Columbus with 13 goals in 2013 but has yet to score in seven games this season. Midfielder Wil Trapp is suspended for tonight's game after receiving a red card on Sunday at Sporting Kansas City. The 21-year-old Homegrown Player was a regular with U.S. U-20 national team and started each of the Crew's first eight games this season.

The Dynamo went 1-1-1 against the Crew in 2013. After the clubs drew in the first meeting, 1-1, at Crew Stadium, the Dynamo registered a 3-1 home win at BBVA Compass Stadium last August. Columbus won the final encounter, 2-0, at Crew Stadium in September.

The Eastern Conference rivals meet three times in 2014, with Houston visiting Columbus on Aug. 23 before the Crew returns to BBVA Compass Stadium on Sept. 13.
