Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON (Friday, Sept. 25, 2015) - The Houston Dynamo face the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium on Breast Cancer Awareness Night, presented by Houston Methodist. Tickets are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL, or by visiting the BBVA Compass Stadium box office (2200 Texas St., Houston).

The game will be broadcast live on ROOT SPORTS Southwest (7 p.m. pregame) and TeleXitos (7 p.m. pregame; Spanish; channel guide). It can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 am and in Spanish on La Ranchera 850 AM and 101.7 FM.

The Dynamo (38 points) are currently tied for eighth place and trail the Portland Timbers (41 points) by three points for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. With a win against Colorado, the Dynamo could pull even with the Timbers, who play on the road at the Columbus Crew tomorrow. A Dynamo win could also vault Houston past the San Jose Earthquakes (40 points) and Real Salt Lake (38 points), who face off on Sunday in San Jose.

Dynamo forward Will Bruin scored his 11th goal of the season, the game-winner in Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City. With four games left in the season, Bruin is two goals shy of Brian Ching's franchise record of 13 regular-season goals, set in 2008. The fifth-year forward came one goal shy of Ching in 2012, when he scored 12 regular-season goals and added four more in the playoffs to set a club record with 16 goals in all competitions.

Dynamo captain Brad Davis is on the verge of 300 career starts in all competitions and would reach the milestone with a start against the Rapids.

The Rapids are in their second season under head coach and former U.S. national team midfielder Pablo Mastroeni. Gabriel Torres and Kevin Doyle share the team lead with four goals apiece while Vicente Sánchez and Dillon Powers lead the club with five assists each. The squad includes veteran midfielders Marcelo Sarvas, who won three MLS Cups the last four years with the LA Galaxy, and Sam Cronin (197 games in six MLS seasons). Powers, the 2013 MLS Rookie of the Year, and 21-year-old Homegrown Player Dillon Serna both took part in the U.S. senior national team camp in January.

After tomorrow's game, the Dynamo travel to play FC Dallas in the Texas Derby next Sunday, Oct. 4 at Toyota Stadium. The Dynamo return home for the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup on Saturday, Oct. 10 against reigning Liga MX champions Santos Laguna. For tickets for the Dynamo's tenth season, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com or call 713-276-GOAL.
