Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) announced today a collaboration with prestigious James Beard Award-Winning Chef Benchawan Jabthong Painter - best known as "Chef G", to bring another unique culinary experience to Shell Energy Stadium, home of the Houston Dash and Houston Dynamo, alongside food & beverage partner Levy.
Jessica O'Neill, President of Business Operations at HDFC, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, stating "We're delighted to welcome Chef G and Street to Kitchen to Shell Energy Stadium. This collaboration underscores our unwavering dedication to providing an unmatched experience for our fans, both on and off the field. With Chef G's renowned authentic Thai cuisine, we're confident that supporters will embark on an extraordinary culinary journey at every match."
Returning to her soccer roots as a teenage goalkeeper in Thailand, Chef G, will bring offerings from her and her husband Graham's highly sought-after restaurant Street to Kitchen to Shell Energy Stadium. Beginning this weekend fans who attend the Houston Dash home opener against Racing Louisville FC will be able to get the first taste of Street to Kitchen on a game day. Tickets for the match are on sale here.
"At Street to Kitchen, we are committed to honoring the timeless traditions of Thai cuisine while infusing it with our own creative flair", said Chef G, Street to Kitchen. "Joining forces with Houston Dynamo Football Club allows us to share our passion for authentic flavors with a broader audience. We're excited to bring a taste of Thailand to the stadium and enhance the match day experience for fans."
Located at 3401 Harrisburg Blvd, in the heart Second Ward in Houston, Street to Kitchen specializes in hand made Thai Food and prides itself on creating flavorful Thai food "the way it's been since Thais began making food."
Chef G began her culinary journey at the age of six, growing up in North Central Thailand learning traditional and ancient techniques from her grandmother. She continued to hone her craft by moving to Bangkok and working in restaurants and pastry shops in the capital of Thailand. Chef G and her husband Graham opened Street to Kitchen with the dream of bringing unapologetically authentic Thai food to America.
Chef G, who was named the Best Chef in Texas by the James Beard Foundation in 2023, joins Chef Hugo Ortega as the second James Beard award-winning chef to bring their renowned culinary offerings to fans on match day. Ortega joined ahead of the 2023 regular season and collaborated with Levy to elevate the food and beverage experience at Shell Energy Stadium and feature local restaurants, purveyors, and eclectic flavors from Houston's culinary community.
