Houston Dynamo FC Host 16 Former Players on Saturday, July 8 as Part of First Ever Alumni Weekend

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC announced that 16 former players will join the Club for the first ever Alumni Weekend beginning on Friday, July 7. The festivities continue Saturday, July 8 as the Dynamo hosts Sporting Kansas City at 7:30 p.m. CT at Shell Energy Stadium.

The alumni roster features Arturo Alvarez, Anthony Arena, Corey Ashe, Bobby Boswell, Geoff Cameron, Mike Chabala, Brian Ching, Warren Crevalle, Brad Davis, AJ DeLaGarza, Andrew Driver, Oscar Boniek García, Martin Hutton, Pat Onstad, Marcus Storey and Cam Weaver.

Festivities include a private pregame meet and greet with Dynamo 365 Members in the East Club on Saturday. Dynamo fans can also meet alumni at the Hold It Down Plaza on the north side of the building starting at 6 p.m. for photos and autographs. All alumni will take the field at halftime for a recognition ceremony.

The Club will also host a special pregame ceremony to commemorate the professional career of Oscar Boniek Garcia. He led the team to three conference finals, the MLS Cup final in 2012 and won the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Garcia patrolled the midfield at Shell Energy Stadium for 10 seasons and finished with 13 goals and 39 assists across 235 MLS matches. He retired in his native Honduras earlier this year after winning the Clausura title with Club Olimpia.

This is the first year that the Club hosts Alumni Weekend and additional programming includes a private tour of the recently renovated Performance Center at Houston Sports Park.
