Campana, Cremaschi and Martínez Named to MLS Team of the Matchday

Inter Miami CF midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi and forwards Leonardo Campana and Josef Martínez have been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 23 of the 2023 regular season. The trio secured their spots on the team after their influential performances in the 2-2 draw against the Columbus Crew at DRV PNK Stadium on Tuesday, July 4.

Campana has been named to the starting XI of Team of the Matchday after returning to the starting lineup in exceptional fashion. The Ecuadorian striker scored the team's first goal of the night and assisted Martínez late equalizer.

Cremaschi, who recorded an assist in each of the two games prior to Tuesday's match, continued his on-field success to earn a spot on the Team of the Matchday bench. For the first time, he took on the position of right wingback and made three key defensive interventions throughout the game. He grew into the position as the game went on and helped the team on both sides of the ball during the match.

Martínez also earned a spot on the Team of the Matchday bench after entering the game as a second half-substitute and helped secure a point for Inter Miami in the 90th minute with a perfectly timed acrobatic scissor kick.

The goal itself tied Martínez with Dwayne De Rosario for the ninth-most goals in MLS history and brought his MLS regular season tally up to 104. The Venezuelan attacker has found the back of the net in Inter Miami's last two matches bringing his team-leading season total 6 goals.

This is Cremaschi's first appearance in an MLS Team of the Matchday in the 2023 regular season, while Campana and Martínez make their second appearance of the campaign.
