PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC tied the University of Pittsburgh, 1-1, on Friday at Ambrose Urbanic Field.

Steevan Dos Santos supplied the tally for the Hounds. This match marked the first time the squad has given up a goal in preseason play (379 straight shutout minutes).

Both teams traded goals with the Panthers scoring first in the opening-45 minutes. Fielding a pass from the right side of the field, the Atlantic Coast Conference team beat goalkeeper Kyle Morton with a shot from the left-center of the 18-yard box in the 19th minute.

Afterward, the Hounds struck back in stoppage time. Dos Santos blasted a shot into the back of the net from just inside of the left side of the penalty box.

In the second half, perhaps the Hounds' best chance to break the 1-1 score was in the 89th minute. Thomas Vancaeyezeele blasted a shot at the edge of the 18-yard box, and the ball just curved high of the crossbar.
