
Loudoun United FC Sign Defender Harri Hawkins

Loudoun United FC have acquired defender Harri Hawkins for the inaugural season pending league and federation approval.
"Hawkins will be a crucial player in our backline with his skill set as a center back," Richie Williams, Loudoun United FC Head Coach, said. "He has experience at the professional level and had a successful collegiate career at Hofstra. We are excited to see how he will contribute to the success of our team this season."
Hawkins joins Loudoun United after spending one season (2017-2018) with Penn FC, previously a USL Championship team. In his time with Penn FC he made 22 appearances totaling 1,847 minutes. Hawkins had the second most clearances with 94 that eason. He also had ten shots, with four shots on target and three assists throughout the season. On May 24 he played 90 minutes in the 3-2 loss to the Richmond Kickers in the 2018 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
Hawkins is from Cambridge, England and came to the United States to play four years at Hofstra University. With the Pride, he scored 13 goals in 58 appearances, including an overtime win against Delaware which helped the Pride claim the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title. Hawkins was also named to the All-CAA First Team in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Following his time at Hofstra, Hawkins joined the New York Cosmos and spent time on the first team and the New York Cosmos B team of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). His time with the Cosmos first team includes starting in the club's 2-0 victory over La Liga's Valencia CF. With Cosmos B, Hawkins helped the team achieve six clean sheets in 2017 and was a main contributor to the defensive accomplishment of only conceding eight goals throughout the entire NPSL campaign.
