Hounds suffer third straight loss

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS - The Youngstown SteelHounds suffer their third straight loss as they fall to the Texas Brahmas by a score of 5-2 on Saturday night. It is the first time in franchise history that they have lost to the Brahmas and are now 10-1-0 lifetime.

Anders Strome scored the first two goals of the game for Texas at 8:21 and 10:07 of the first period. Scott Sheppard made it 3-0 with his first of three goals on the night at the 11:35 mark. Jason Baird scored his fourth goal in five games a SteelHound to make it 3-1 after one period. Hounds goaltender Brad Roberts was pulled at 11:35 after giving up three goals. Recently resigned Layne Sedevie made 16 saves on 18 shots in relief.

Kevin Jarman scored in the second period for Youngstown but it was too late as Sheppard had scored his second of the game at 5:28 and it was 4-2 Texas after two periods.

Sheppard recorded the hat trick at 6:58 of the third period to give the Brahmas the 5-2 win.

The Hounds have now lost three straight and fall to 13-4-1 (27 points) on the season. They have a two point lead on Mississippi for first place in the Northeast Division.
