Hounds Fall To Eagles 7-3

LOVELAND, COLORADO - The Youngstown SteelHounds fell to the Colorado Eagles by a score of 7-3 on Friday night. The Hounds have never won a game at the Budweiser Events Center.

The Hounds scored first as Kevin Jarman put in his first of two goals on the night at 7:30 of the first period to make it 1-0 after 20 minutes of play.

The Eagles soared in the second period with three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead. Kris Wiebe scored a power play goal at 4:07, Greg Pankewicz gave the Eagles the lead 27 seconds later and Dave Iannazzo finished the rally with his first of two goals on the night at 8:07. Youngstown tried to comeback as Eric Przepiorka scored his 22nd of the season at 16:19 to make it a 3-2 game. Iannazzo added his second of the night at 17:56 to give the Eagles a 4-2 advantage going into the third period.

Steve Haddon scored his 12th of the season at 6:51 to make it a 5-2 Eagles lead. Kevin Jarman added his second of the night at 10:23 to make it a 5-3 game. Jarman now has 17 goals and 14 assists on the season. Seth Leonard then slammed the door with two goals at 13:13 and 17:02 respectively to give the Eagles a 7-3 win. The Eagles out shot the Hounds 34-32 for the game.

Youngstown drops to 28-18-4 (60 points) and remained tied with the Mississippi RiverKings (29-18-2, 60 points) for second place in the Northeast Division and fourth in the Northern Conference. The Hounds will stay on the road and take on the Amarillo Gorillas on Sunday night at 7:05. All SteelHounds games are available on ESPN Radio 1240 and SteelHounds.com.
