Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
Modern Woodmen Park's newest attraction is the brand new Jumer's Casino Rock Island Hot Tub Deck located at the back end of the Party Plaza down the right field line, officially unveiled in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the ballpark on Tuesday afternoon.
"This new addition to Modern Woodmen Park is one of a number of upgrades that we have been planning, and we couldn't be more excited about the unveiling," said team owner Dave Heller. "The new Tiki Bar, new concessions stands, Corn Field, and everything else are all going to really improve the fan experience, but that the Hot Tub Deck is going to be a heck of a lot of fun. It's going to become a ballpark icon very quickly."
Following this week's set of games, the Hot Tub Deck will be available to be rented out for groups of 10-30 people starting on Wednesday, May 28, with the River Bandits end-of-month homestand at Modern Woodmen Park. A Hot Tub Deck outing comes complete with wait-service and food provided by an adjoining barbeque pit, priced at just $29 per person. Fans have already begun snatching up these outings, which are sure to be a hot commodity for years to come.
"I think that in many ways the new Hot Tub Deck is symbolic of the new era of Quad Cities baseball," said Vice President/General Manager Kirk Goodman. "There is a new mentality at Modern Woodmen Park and a new way of doing things that puts the fans first. We really care about making their experience as incredible as possible, and this fantastic new group area is emblematic of that."
The deck was finalized this past week, and to celebrate the River Bandits are giving away use of the brand new area for all four home games this week against Ryne Sandberg and the Peoria Chiefs. Cynthia Savage, a schoolteacher from Muscatine, and her hard-working coworkers at the Muscatine School District won the opportunity to enjoy the first-ever Hot Tub Deck outing on Monday.
The opportunity to enjoy the deck on Tuesday will be given away by Dwyer & Michaels on 97X. Wednesday night's outing will be a prize package on WLLR with Justice & Howe, and Dave & Darren will hand out the tickets for Thursday night's homestand finale on Rock 104.9.
"We're thrilled to have this new deck in place as well as having a great partner to share it with," said Assistant General Manager Cory Howerton. "Bill Renk and the good people over at Jumer's were anxiously anticipating this day, and are as excited as we are about opening up the deck to the public."
UP NEXT: The River Bandits continue their four-game series at Modern Woodmen Park against Ryne Sandberg and the Peoria Chiefs, proudly opening the brand new Hot Tub Deck in the process! Tuesday's ballgame is a Two-for-Tuesday, featuring 2-for-1 tickets. Make sure you come to the park early for an Autographed Baseball Giveaway on Wednesday, which will also be American Idol Night and a Wacky WINS-day. All Wednesday home games are presented by the IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union, entitling all members to two free kids tickets when showing their membership card at the box office. Finally, the series will conclude with the Quad-City Times' Celebrate Night, featuring Bad Fad Night and a Thirst-day Thursday, so bust out your bell-bottoms and platform shoes and enjoy half-price draft beer, wine, margaritas, and soft drinks. Merchandise featuring the new team name and logo is currently available by visiting the Modern Woodmen Park team store, and season ticket packages, mini-packages, and the popular You-Pick-10 Plan are on sale at the park or by calling (563) 3-BANDITS!
