Lake County Captains News Release
(Bowling Green, KY)- Robi Estrada hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the eighth inning lifting Bowling Green to a 3-2 lead over Lake County. The Hot Rods went on to win 4-2 on Wednesday night.
Lake County took the lead in the fifth inning 2-0; Brian Heere came through with an RBI single to score Ronny Rodriguez. Carlos Moncrief drove in Heere with a two out base hit to center field.
Derek Dietrich ripped a two run homerun to right field in the bottom of the sixth inning, to tie the game up at 2.
Jimmy Patterson (4-2) picked up the win working two scoreless innings allowing just one hit and striking out four. Kyle Petter (0-2) took the loss allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four. JD Reichenbach made the start for the Captains picking up a no decision tossing six innings allowing two runs on just three hits, walking two and striking out three.
Lake County and Bowling Green continue their three game series on Thursday night at 8:05PM at Bowling Green Ballpark. The Captains will start RHP Mike Goodnight (5-7) against LHP CJ Riefenhauser (5-5) for the Hot Rods. Catch all the action on AM 1330 WELW or online at captainsbaseball.com.
