Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
The Hot Rods secured the series victory in last night's 10-5 win and aim for more today.
A Winning Week.... The Bowling Green Hot Rods secured their first road series victory of the season with a 10-5 win over Greenville on Saturday. Bowling Green's offense was ruthless, scoring nine runs in the final four innings. Hitters collected seven extra-base hits, including an RBI triple from Cooper Kinney, as well as home runs from Xavier Isaac, Kamren James, and Colton Ledbetter.
Almost the First.... In 15 years of the Bowling Green Hot Rods franchise there has never been a hitter to go for the cycle. Cooper Kinney was the closest in recent history, falling a home run short in Saturday night's win. Kinney started the game with an RBI triple in the first inning. He followed with a double in his next at-bat. He finished the night 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI, just short of the four-bagger for the cycle.
Crushing with Consistency.... It has been a massive offensive week for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, and Saturday was their best performance of the season. All nine hitters recorded at least one hit. Chandler Simpson, Colton Ledbetter, and Kamren James all had two-hits, while Cooper Kinney led the way with three. Xavier Isaac and Ledbetter drove in the most run, leading the way with three RBIs each.
Dazzling Davitt... RHP Duncan Davitt started the week on the bump for Bowling Green on Tuesday. He worked through the Greenville order with ease, going 5.2 innings of hitless baseball. Two errors and two walks were the only way runners reached base, with one walk scoring once Sandy Gaston entered the game. Davitt stayed in line for the win, entering today with 1-0 record and a 1.59 ERA.
