Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Crosscutters have a recent history of giving up early leads but on Tuesday night at Susquehanna Bank Park at Bowman Field the tables were turned on the Batavia Muckdogs.
The Cutters took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning on a Jiandido Tromp 3-run homer, his second home run of the night and third multi-homer game of the year.
Batavia answered with a 4-run top of the eighth inning off Cutters relievers Frank Rivas and Calvin Rayburn to lead 5-4 going into the bottom of the ninth.
With two outs, Aaron Brown and Tromp hit back-back singles which brought Rhys Hoskins to the plate. Hoskins then drilled an 0-2 pitch to deep right center, a double off the wall scoring both base runners providing the first walk off win in Susquehanna Bank Park at Bowman Field history 6-5.
WP: Calvin Rayburn (1-1)
LP: Juancito Martinez (1-1)
Cutters Record: 19-19
Next Game: Wednesday, July 23, 2014 vs Batavia, 7:05 p.m.
