Hooks, Wranglers set for game one of TLCS in Wichita

(WICHITA, Kan.) - The Corpus Christi Hooks and Wichita Wranglers square off in Lawrence-Dumont Stadium tonight at 7:05 in Game One of the 2006 Texas League Championship Series.

The Hooks swept Midland in their best-of-five South Division series last week and have been idle since Thursday. Juan Gutierrez, who posted an 8-4 record during the regular season and beat the RockHounds 3-0 in the South Division opener last Tuesday, opens for Corpus Christi tonight. The 23-year-old right-hander has pitched 20 innings in his last five starts without allowing a run.

Wichita counters with Zack Greinke (8-3, 4.34). The Wranglers defeated Tulsa in the North Division playoffs three games to one.

Assistant General Manager Michael Wood reminds Hooks fans that a good supply of general admission tickets remains for the historic TLCS home opener.

"There are no reserved seats remaining, but good general admission opportunity for Thursday's game," Wood said. "We have a limited amount of seats for Friday's game and good reserved seat availability for Saturday."

General admission tickets are just $5 each and are available at the Whataburger Field Box Office, on-line at cchooks.com or by calling 361-561-HOOK. Reserved seats are $9.
