FRISCO - Domingo Santana belted a home run to left field in the 11th inning Friday night, handing the Hooks a 3-2 victory and a first-half championship before 10,769 at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

Corpus Christi (42-25) was shackled early on thanks to a strong start by Tyler Tufts. He allowed just two hits and struck out four over five frames.

Jorge De Leon was solid for the Hooks as well. A two-out RBI double by Alex Buchholz in the fourth and a lead-off home run in the fifth from Tomas Telis in the fifth put the Riders up 2-0.

De Leon yielded three hits and one walk while striking out three.

Erik Castro squared the score in the seventh with a two-run blast down the right-field line.

Ruben Alaniz, on his 22nd birthday, hurled four frames of shutout relief for Corpus Christi.

Andrew Robinson (2-2) kept Frisco (37-30) off the board in the 10th. With a runner at second and two away, he induced a pop out from rehabbing Texas Ranger Ian Kinsler to end the frame.

Font (1-2), who entered in the 10th, struck out three of the first four he faced. Santana fell behind 1-2 before smacking a line drive that just cleared the fence in left-center. Font has now permitted two home runs in 22 appearances. Both have been game-winners.

Patrick Urckfitz notched his third save of the season - and second of the series - by getting the final out with the tying run at third base.

Corpus Christi's 42 first-half wins is a new club record.
