CORPUS CHRISTI - Catcher Eduardo de Oleo beat out a broken-bat infield single to chase home the winning run Tuesday night as the Hooks slipped past Frisco, 4-3, at Whataburger Field.

De Oleo's ninth-inning knock sent Corpus Christi (18-7, 61-33) to its fourth walk-off win of the year, and the club's first since May 16 vs. San Antonio.

Hooks starter Jorge Alcala spun a career-best eight innings, striking out eight against one walk.

The only damage against him came on a two-run home run by Destin Hood in the fifth.

Stephen Wrenn levelled the score in short order with a two-out, two-run blast off Ariel Jurado in the Hooks half of the fifth.

Corpus Christi could not capitalize on three Anthony Gose walks, stranding the bases loaded in the seventh. The Hooks also left two in scoring position in the eighth.

Frisco (15-10, 39-56) pushed ahead briefly in the ninth thanks to an unearned run driven home by Hood's sac fly.

Trailing 3-2, Wrenn and Josh Rojas coaxed walks from Ryne Slack to start the home ninth. A double steal prompted an intentional walk of clean-up hitter Randy Cesar. One out later, Chas McCormick mustered a fly ball to shallow right, sending home Wrenn from third to tie the game. Alex De Goti was then hit by a pitch, loading the bases.

De Oleo worked the count full before placing a slow chopper past the mound to end the game.

The Hooks now set their sights on a series split Wednesday night with Hector Perez slated to make his Whataburger Field debut. Frisco will send lefty Brett Martin (2-6, 7.43) to the hill. First pitch 7:05.
