
Hooks Down Riders Behind Big Offensive Day

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders took an early lead, but the Corpus Christi Hooks used a seven-run fourth inning to springboard themselves to a 13-4 win on Thursday night from Whataburger Field.
The Riders (24-29) jumped out in front first for the third-straight game, this time taking a lead in the second with a Liam Hicks RBI single.
After the Hooks (25-28) scored twice in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead, Trevor Hauver bashed a two-run shot to left in the fourth for his fourth home run of the season, giving Frisco a 3-2 advantage.
The lead did not last long as Corpus pounded seven runs on seven hits in the home half of the inning, knocking starter Nick Krauth (1-3) out of the game.
The Hooks added on with two in the sixth and two in the seventh, but Frisco found the scoreboard in the ninth again with an RBI single from Aaron Zavala.
Three Riders collected two hits on the night (Luisangel Acuña, Hauver and Hicks) as Frisco had nine hits on the offensive side.
Diosmerky Taveras (1-0) earned the win for Corpus Christi out of the bullpen with 3.1 scoreless innings in relief.
The RoughRiders take on the Hooks for game four of the series on Friday, June 9th at 7:05 p.m. Frisco sends RHP Seth Nordlin (0-1, 5.67) to the mound against LHP Julio Robaina (4-3, 3.95).
