Arkansas Travelers News Release

Corpus Christi, TX - Three Corpus Christi pitchers held the Arkansas Travelers to a season low two hits and handed the Travs their fifth shutout of the season in a 3-0 game on Thursday night. Hooks starting pitcher Forrest Whitley, perhaps the top pitching prospect in all of baseball, left the game just 17 pitches in after calling for the athletic trainer to come out of the dugout. But the bullpen was sensational for the Hooks. Ronel Blanco in his Double-A debut did not allow a hit over four innings with eight strikeouts while Alex Winkelman recorded the final 13 outs and picked up a save.

Moments That Mattered

* Corpus Christi clean-up hitter Yordan Alvarez delivered a two-out RBI single in the first to put the Hooks out to an early lead. He added another two out RBI hit in the fifth inning.

* Arkansas first hit of the night came leading off the sixth inning on a Logan Taylor opposite field single. Any momentum was short-lived however as he was erased in a double play two batters later.

Notable Travs Performances

* Art Warren: 1.1 IP, H, BB, 2 K

* Matt Walker: 2 IP, H, BB, 2 K
