(Rochester, MN) - The Honkers came from behind to win an exciting 4-3 battle against the St. Cloud Rox in Rochester, MN on Friday night.

With the victory, the Honkers take the first game of a three-game set with the Rox.

The Honkers trailed by a score of 2-0 all the way up until the bottom of the seventh inning when the Rochester offense came alive and took the lead from the Rox with a three-run inning to go ahead 3-2. Left fielder Justin Parr (Illinois) drove in the tying and go-ahead runs with a sharply hit single to plate shortstop Brandon Defazio (San Mateo) and second baseman Justin Protacio (Kansas). Parr went 1 for 4 with those two RBIs.

Right fielder Ben Lahn (Lamar CC) blasted a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth. The homerun would prove to be the game winner. Lahn finished his night 3 for 4 with the long ball and two runs.

Matt Kent (Texas A&M) tossed a complete game and picked up his third win of the season to improve his record to 3-4. Kent allowed three runs on 12 hits while striking out four Rox batters.

The loss for St. Cloud was handed to lefty Will Flor (Jacksonvile) after giving up the tie-breaking run in the bottom of the big Honkers seventh inning. Flor is now 2-4.

Protacio and centerfielder Dakota Smith (Kansas) each went 1 for 3 at the top of the Rochester batting order.

The Honkers and Rox will play game two of the set tomorrow night, July 21st, in St. Cloud at 6:05 PM. Starting for the Honkers will be right-hander Nick Dolsky (DMACC) against fellow righty Billy Soule (Minnesota).
