Rochester Honkers Signee, Outfielder Bryce Marquardt of Bethel University

(Rochester, Minn.) - The Rochester Honkers announced today the signing of utility players Houston Glad of Northeast Oklahoma Junior College, Lucas Lorenz of Northern State (S.D.), as well as outfielder Bryce Marquardt of Bethel University (Minn.), to temporary contracts for the 2016 Northwoods League season.
Glad, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound sophomore, from Tahlequah, Okla., has played 23 games for the Norsemen hitting .463 with 11 runs scored and 14 RBIs. On the mound, Glad is 3-2 in nine appearances, with six of them being starts, with an 8.10 ERA. He has pitched 36.2 innings with 16 walks and 22 strikeouts.
Lorenz, a 6-foot, 225-pound sophomore, from Aberdeen, South Dakota, has hit .360 with 12 home runs, 44 RBIs and 14 walks in 44 games played for Northern State. In his last game against Minnesota Duluth, he went 1 for 4 with one RBI in a 7-5 loss.
Marquardt, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound junior, from Champlin, Minn., has a .396 average in 38 games with the Royals. He has collected 24 RBIs, seven walks and 11 stolen bases in 13 attempts. In a game against Saint Mary's May 8, he went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a stolen base.
The Rochester Honkers 23rd season begins on May 31st when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express. The following night, Wednesday, June 1st, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
