Green Bay, Wis. - Over the past four months, Tundraland Home Improvements has been running a program called "Windows for a Cause," collaborating with local artists and businesses to raise the funds to purchase an electric wheelchair for a National Guard Veteran. This project will help him stand up for the first time since 1974.

The way they are doing it: painting on old windows that would otherwise be thrown away, and auctioning them off.

The artists were tasked with painting a depiction of what they see of the community when they look out their windows and they got to work with vigor. There are 82 pictures listed on Tundraland's Facebook page and numerous others that have yet to be unveiled to the public. One such painting depicts the Bullfrogs among a silver screen baseball legend.

While in Anna Larsen's art class, McKenzie Burnett, a student at Green Bay West High School, painted her window with the Bullfrogs logo in the lower right hand corner while the body of the painting shows the exploits of Hamilton "Ham" Porter, the lovable and quotable catcher in the classic baseball film "The Sandlot." The painting shows the talkative backstop calling his shot as he mimics his hero in the film, Babe Ruth.

The silent auction for the paintings will take place on May 25th in the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center from 5:00 to 8:30 PM with all proceeds going to the purchase of the wheelchair. For more information and to see some of the windows, go to Tundraland's Facebook page.

The Bullfrogs season starts on May 31st against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at Joannes Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35. Gates open at 5:35. Single game tickets are on sale now. To purchase tickets, call the Bullfrogs office at (920) 497-7225 or visit www.greenbaybullfrogs.com.
