
Homers power Bulls past to series win over Toledo

Durham, NC-The Bulls slugged four balls over the fence Friday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, including two off the bat of Joel Guzman, to defeat the Toledo Mud Hens, 9-3, taking three games out of the four-game series.
Guzman drove in three of the Bulls' runs via two solo home runs and a single in four trips to the plate. Chris Richard drove in three with a three-run home run off of losing pitcher Virgil Vasquez (2-4, 7.08). Richard also doubled and scored two in four at-bats, and Jeremy Owens hit his third home run of the year.
Mitch Talbot (4-3, 4.47) earned the win with six innings of work, allowing three runs on five hits, three walks and a home run while striking out four.
The Bulls will play host to the Charlotte Knights Saturday at 5:05 p.m. at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Right-hander Ben Hendrickson (3-2, 2.41) will take the mound for Durham, and righty Tomo Ohka (0-6, 5.82) is scheduled to start for Charlotte.
