TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Pawtucket Red Sox in the finale of their four-game series at Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd needs a win tonight to earn a split of the set. The Bisons are currently 1-2 on their eight-game homestand that continues tomorrow with a four-game series against Lehigh Valley. On the mound tonight for Buffalo is RHP Matt Ginter. The veteran tossed a season-high six innings to defeat Rochester on Sunday. The PawSox will counter with RHP Charlie Zink.
HOT HITTER: INF Ryan Mulhern has been the Bisons best hitter this past week. The team's 2007 MVP has hit in six straight games with a .500 (12-24) batting average since last Thursday. During the solid stretch at the plate, Mulhern has added two doubles, two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored.
ROSTER MOVE: The Cleveland Indians recalled LHP Jeremy Sowers today. The southpaw is scheduled to pitch against Cincinnati tonight. Sowers was 2-2 with a 2.21ERA in seven games with the Herd. His ERA was the fourth lowest in the International League. To make roster room, the Tribe designated OF Jason Tyner.
BAUER HOUR: RHP Rick Bauer has pitched scoreless baseball in 14 of his 15 outings this year. His nine saves are tied for the second most in the International League.
EXTRA-EXTRA: OF Brad Snyder hit his ninth double of the season yesterday. He now leads the team with 14 extra-base hits with nine doubles, a triple, and four home runs. He is now one ahead of INF Aaron Herr (5 2B, 3 3B, 5HR), INF Josh Barfield (8 2B, 1 3B, 4HR) and OF Jason Cooper (8 2B, 2 3B, 3HR).
