Home Runs Lead to a Patriots and Revolution Double Header Split

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots (25-17) split a double header with the York Revolution (20-20) at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday evening.

Game 1:

The Revolution took the first game over the Patriots 3-1.

Somerset took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Alfredo Rodriguez.

York tied up the game in the top of the fourth inning on a Wellington Dotel home run (2).

The Revolution took the lead in the top of the fifth inning on a two-run home run by Jared Mitchell (4) that made the score 3-1.

Dominic Severino (3-3) picked up the win, allowing a run on four hits and four strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. Kyle Davies (0-3) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits and five strikeouts in six innings pitched. Grant Sides earned his third save of the season with a perfect inning pitched and two strikeouts.

Game 2:

The Patriots took the second game of the twin bill 4-1 over the Revolution.

Somerset took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single by Julio Borbon and a sacrifice bunt by Justin Pacchioli.

The Revolution cut the lead in half in the top of the fifth inning on a Travis Witherspoon home run (2).

The Patriots put the game away in the bottom of the frame on a two-run home run by Adam Weisenburger (4) that made the score 4-1.

"In a seven inning game, you always want to do as much damage as quickly as possible," said Weisenburger. "We got two runs early and it's always nice to get some insurance runs later in the game to solidify the [win]."

Duane Below (2-2) picked up the win, allowing a run on four hits and six strikeouts in five innings pitched. Logan Williamson (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in 4.1 innings pitched. Ryan Kelly earned his eighth save of the season with a scoreless inning pitched.
