Grand Prairie, TX. The AirHogs used a seven-run first inning to defeat the Fort Worth Cats, 8-2, Sunday night front of 2,759 fans at QuikTrip Park. The AirHogs were able to salvage the final game of a three-game series with their I-30 rivals.

Right-handed pitcher Ryne Tacker threw a complete game scattering seven hits and only one earned run. The lone earned run was a solo home run by the Cats in the first inning.

Tacker struck out eight and walked none on 122 pitches.

After Tacker gave up the home run to Jeremy Saucedo the AirHogs exploded for their big first inning. The AirHogs batted around scoring seven runs - all with no out - on six hits off the Cats' Jason Fernandez.

Robert Perry, Daniel Berg and Antoin Gray had consecutive singles to load the bases for David Espinosa, who hit a two-run single to put the AirHogs ahead. After Greg Porter walked, Ernie Banks made his debut a big one with a bases clearing double to right center to make it 5-1.

Michael Hollimon then followed that with a two-run home run to right to make it 7-1.

Each team scored another run apiece to bring the final to 8-2.

The AirHogs have an open date Monday but return to action Tuesday to open a three-game series with El Paso beginning at 7:05 p.m. at QuikTrip Park.
